Queen Liz of H&G reigns supreme❤️. (In black, centre rear). A marvellous champagne fuelled send off at Jamb last night. Thank you! Great fun, great company, also slightly sad for all those designers championed by Liz over the years. HH were lucky enough to be spotted, and Liz has been an amazing support and mentor over the years. Stylish, cool, calm, professional and above all kind. (Qualities inherited by daughter Charlie @tat.london, front row ❤️Thanks also again Will and Charlotte @jamb_london ❤️Second helpings of delicious Spanish pig enjoyed by all….. ...
Sometimes the slightly smaller scale projects are the most satisfying. This is a lovely Listed 1820s house we are bringing back to life after severe neglect and abuse. Authentic new floors, chimney pieces, windows, cornices et al. Lime plaster everywhere, receiving its first coats of paint from Atelier Ellis. The bones are so good it’s almost a shame to clutter with furniture ….. Although our wonderful artist clients are sure to get this spot on. @atelier.ellis ...
Glorious May is gone but thanks to the rain in early June, our garden is peaking right now. Still fresh, and the foxgloves, oxeyes and catmint are in chorus together. It’s a laissez fair approach, ‘cottage gardener’ style, as much by necessity as design ( I don’t have the time). Haven’t planted anything for years: Half the plants are self seeded and then it’s simply a judicious weeding with a bit of ‘help’ from the free roaming foul and livestock. Sometimes the most charming houses come about in a similar fashion. The temptation to over-design must be balanced with allowing space for some natural evolution. Glorious Easter weather at one of our favourite haunts, Mapperton. The formal garden is laid out in a valley, descending past the house in a series of terraced spaces, dropping to the sheltered pool (now conquered by newts, but the family still swims occasionally) and then on to the arboretum which gently fuses with the countryside beyond. Perfection. ...

It’s all in the detail. In the decorating stage of one of our current projects in Holland Park. A new level we added flows seamlessly because of the attention to authentic 19thC detailing, and the willingness to introduce quirky Victorian solutions such as rounded corners and scribed cornices. All new work drawn up by our team. ...
